Who is PinkShag Design?
PinkShag Design is a boutique studio in downtown Denver that specializes in branding, but we also pride ourselves on partnerships with other talent to scale teams on a per-job basis. This “virtual-agency” keeps us small but powerful, and we are able to pass the cost savings of low overhead on to you as a client. Our business model enables fresh thoughts to flow through our network, and with the vast changes taking place in today’s technology and world of communication, we are well aware that we need to stay as fresh as possible. Owned by an award winning designer with over 15 years experience, and supported by an extended network of seasoned professionals, we have experience working with companies ranging from start-ups to well established corporations. We offer competitive pricing for high end design with copious amounts of creativity. Our goal is to help our clients maintain a level of professionalism and quality in their image that exceeds their competitors, boosts revenue and gets them noticed – in a good way.

Diana Merkel
The creator of PinkShag Design, Diana has opened an office at Laundry on Lawrence to serve as the PinkShag ‘hub’. She’s a 15 year veteran of the design world that creatively finds ways to bring great design to her clients. Her drive and work ethic are exhausting (to everyone else on the team), but she always finds time to laugh and have lots of fun. She truly cares about every one of her clients, and goes the extra mile to try to make each of them feel special. Her do-it-yourself hobbyist obsessions makes for interesting décor at times – the latest braided rug experiment or silk screened event posters are sure to catch your eye on a visit to PinkShag.

Courtney Kraig
Courtney greatly enjoys the design process, and has an uncanny love for creativity. From logos to posters to brochures to websites, she enjoys the creative challenge and pushing herself to produce the best work possible. Drawing, painting and sculpture have always been a passionate focus. However, Courtney found that she loved the fusion of practical projects with the creative process. For the last 15 years she has worked for design firms and ad agencies where she designed, produced and managed projects; including publications, brochures, posters, and websites.

Kami Johannes
With a background in graphic arts and interactive media, Kami brings over 8 years of experience to PinkShag. She has worked a diverse range of gigs including agency, in-house, and freelance. A known optimist and a stickler for clean design and proper kerning, she really enjoys collaborative design processes with a belief that the best ideas come from multiple minds. Most of her free time these days is spent enjoying her family and introducing her young son to art through crayons and finger painting.

Tara Wenger
Tara’s right brain holds a degree in Theatrical Scenic Design, but her left brain realized the difficulty of making a living within the highly funded theatre world. Ironically, left brain had to become creative to provide basic bodily needs such as food and shelter, and kicked in the organizational and efficient management instilled by her Virgo Mother. Since this realization, Tara has turned left within multiple art-based companies in the Pacific Northwest and Denver areas including management and accounting at a music school, concert hall, and fine art services company. Her bull-fighting work-ethic will triumphantly assist you with a successful project fruition. Tara is ecstatic to bring her remarkable juggling brain to PinkShag Design and welcomes any challenge!

Clyde Merkel
100 lbs. of teeth and claws – Clyde depletes the stock of paper towels in the office with an efficiency and fervor that keeps us all smiling. His dedication to ball retrieval and client licking are unmatched. Don’t worry, if you don’t love dogs like we do, we can always stow him away in the back room for meetings.

PinkShag Moving to Laundry on Lawrence
PinkShag has outgrown it’s space on 2921 Walnut and is excited to move into a creative community space at 27th and Lawrence! As soon as The Space Creators are done with construction, we’ll dive into decorating. We have high hopes for an Open House in November. Come by and check it out! We’ll update you as soon as we have more information.
With over 120 years of history, The Laundry on Lawrence is entering a new period in its evolution. The oldest portion of the building was built in 1886 and the building was used as a laundry consistently since the 1890′s through to 2009, having survived major renovations and several major fires through the years. The spirit of the building will be kept alive in its rebirth as one of Denver’s most dynamic creative communities.
